Privacy policy
Last updated: August 2026
Vehiza is a data controller under Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Data we collect
- Account data: name or business name, email, phone and WhatsApp numbers, region, seller type.
- Verification data: one-time codes and the result of phone or WhatsApp verification.
- Listing data: vehicle details, photos, price and contact preferences you publish.
- Activity data: views and inquiries on adverts, saved searches, shortlisted cars, messages between buyers and sellers.
- Payment data: mobile money network, masked number, amount and status. We never store your mobile money PIN.
Why we use it
- To publish your adverts and connect you with buyers or sellers.
- To verify contacts and prevent fraud, scams and duplicate listings.
- To send the alerts you asked for (new matches and price drops).
- To give sellers analytics about their own adverts.
- To meet legal and tax obligations in Ghana.
What other people can see
Your advert, your public seller name, region, seller type, verified badge and buyer reviews are visible to everyone. Your email address is never shown. Your phone and WhatsApp numbers are shown only on adverts where you chose to display them, and to buyers you are already messaging.
Sharing
We share data only with the service providers that run the platform: our cloud database and storage host, our SMS/WhatsApp verification gateway, and our mobile money payment processor. We do not sell your personal data.
Retention
Account and listing data is kept while your account is active. Verification codes expire within minutes. Transaction records are kept as long as Ghanaian law requires. After deletion we remove or anonymise your data within 30 days.
Your rights
Under Act 843 you may access, correct, or delete your personal data, object to processing, and withdraw consent to marketing at any time. Use the unsubscribe links in alerts, the controls on your profile, or contact us to exercise these rights. You may also complain to Ghana's Data Protection Commission.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access to your records is restricted to your own account by database-level policies, photos are served through expiring signed links, and one-time codes are stored hashed with rate limiting and lockouts against brute force.
